Brief history of Gardenia jasminoides "Veitchii",
Commonly known as "Cape Jasmine".



The Gardenia jasminoides "Veitchii" is an evergreen shrub with willowy branches, of compact, bushy habit, dense with handsome elliptic shining dark green leaves, and is reasured for its intensely fragrant jasmine-like, extra double, pure white flowers, blooming from January to May.

Care of Gardenia:
All Gardenia jasminoides "Veitchii" require high light intensity , warmth and moisture, and if grown in the house, the plant needs the sunniest of place. If possible, set outdoors during summer, ensuring the plant receives fertilizer regularly and is kept MOIST at all times. Bring indoors when nights get chilly by late summer. Keep cooler in the house until December when the night temperature is lowered to 17/18oC or 66/68oF for a cool period to initiate bud formation. Then they are to be kept warmer again with frequent feeding and watering which is necessary in order to nourish the developing flowers which will fill any room with their fragrance.
